Chimney Company in Hollywood Hills - One Flat Price, You See What We See

Chimney Company in Hollywood Hills, CA

Chimney repair in Hollywood Hills starts with understanding what these hillside homes actually are: mostly 1920s-1950s Spanish Colonial and Tudor builds with original clay flue liners never meant for frequent wood burning. When we inspect a chimney here, we’re usually looking at seismic settling cracks, spalled masonry from dry heat, and animal debris from the chaparral, not heavy creosote. Our team handles the full scope, sweep, dryer vent cleaning, and structural repair, so one call to (833) 467-6692 gets a technician who can diagnose and restore in a single visit.

Why Hollywood Hills Homes Are Different

Hollywood Hills is built into steep canyon terrain. Laurel Canyon, Beachwood Canyon, and the neighborhoods above the Hollywood Bowl are full of narrow winding drives and hillside lots where exterior masonry chimneys sit exposed to intense sun and Santa Ana winds. These aren’t suburban boxes on flat slabs. A chimney on a hillside foundation moves differently, and after enough dry seasons and the occasional winter rain, clay flue tiles crack and mortar joints open up. We see decorative Spanish-style hearths with narrow unlined flues that were built for occasional ambiance fires in the 1930s, not for a family heating through winter. Add in the wildfire-hardened culture that followed the Woodland Hills and Old Topanga evacuations, and a chimney visit here functions as fire-prevention inspection as much as cleaning. Homeowners want to know the flue can handle a fire before burning season, not after smoke backs up into the living room.

Our Main Hollywood Hills Services

Two jobs dominate the calls we get from Hollywood Hills homeowners: chimney sweeping before the short burning season, and dryer vent cleaning for households that want both major fire hazards handled in one scheduled visit.

Chimney Sweep in Hollywood Hills

A chimney sweep in Hollywood Hills often focuses on what’s accumulated during the long off-season. Because burning here is infrequent, flues sit unused for months or years while bats, birds, and windblown brush debris from the surrounding chaparral find their way past damaged or missing caps. We remove the nests and debris, inspect the flue liner for cracks, and let you know whether the chimney is safe to use as is. Our Chimney Sweep in Hollywood Hills service includes a camera inspection so you see exactly what we see before any repair recommendation.

Dryer Vent Cleaning in Hollywood Hills

Dryer vents in older hillside homes often run longer than modern code allows, snaking through tight framing to reach an exterior wall. Lint builds up fast in those runs, and a clogged vent is a leading household fire cause. Our Dryer Vent Cleaning in Hollywood Hills service clears the full run, checks the cap and termination, and can upgrade to Famco or Gelco components in the same appointment if the existing cap is damaged or poorly designed for the wind exposure these hills get.

Chimney Repair in Hollywood Hills

Chimney repair in Hollywood Hills usually means fixing what seismic settling and dry heat have done to older masonry and clay flues. A 1930s hillside chimney with an original terra cotta liner and exterior masonry that’s baked through a decade of Santa Ana seasons will develop cracks that aren’t cosmetic. Those cracks let heat reach framing and let carbon monoxide into the house, and in this fire climate, a damaged spark arrestor or cap is a direct wildfire risk. We carry HeatShield and DuraFlex liner systems on the shelf, so a damaged flue can often be resurfaced or relined the same appointment rather than waiting days for parts. Chimney Cap Installation

Signs you need it

You see birds, bats, or debris inside the flue, or there’s no cap at all and rain has been getting down the chimney.

What it costs in Hollywood Hills

Chimney cap installation in Hollywood Hills typically runs $190 – $390 including the cap and mounting hardware.

How we do it

We measure the flue opening, recommend a cap sized for your liner with spark-arrestor mesh suitable for wildfire conditions, and secure it to the crown with mechanical fasteners.

Chimney Liner Installation

Signs you need it

Your camera inspection shows cracked flue tiles, missing mortar joints, or gaps where smoke could reach the chimney walls.

What it costs in Hollywood Hills

A new chimney liner in Hollywood Hills typically runs $2,450 – $4,900 depending on flue height and liner grade.

How we do it

We size the DuraFlex liner to the existing flue, connect it to the appliance, and insulate the annular space so the chimney drafts correctly.

What Chimney Repair Costs in Hollywood Hills

Does chimney repair in Hollywood Hills cost more because of the hillside lots?

Sometimes. Steep drives and tight access can add setup time, but most Hollywood Hills chimneys are accessible from the roof or a standard ladder. The written estimate sets the final price, so you’ll know before we start.

Do I need a new liner or can the old one be repaired?

We inspect with a camera before recommending anything. HeatShield resurfacing can restore a cracked clay liner without full replacement in many cases, and we’ll show you the footage so you can verify the damage yourself. Call (833) 467-6692 for an exact quote.
